Marinara Sauce

If you want to make marinara sauce - and save $$$ at the grocery store, (you get twice the sauce at 1/3 the price!) make sure to stay out of this isle full of expensive marinara sauces at the grocery store.

Instead, spend your time in this isle and grab some crushed tomatoes.  Pick up garlic and some fresh basil and you are ready!
Needed ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 garlic cloves, smashed
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
salt and pepper
1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh basil
Heat saucepan over medium heat. Add the oil and garlic and cook the garlic until golden - about 2 minutes.
Add 1/4 cup water, the tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the pot and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat to low and simmer approx 10 min.

Remove from the pan and stir in the basil.  Enjoy!
