Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point

Luminaria is an outdoor light show in Lehi, Utah at Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point that runs from November 14 - January 4.  It is closed on Sundays and holidays.  They have open time slots from 4-9pm with the last entrance at 9:15pm.  We have included going to Luminaria in our family Christmas traditions for over 10 years.  We love it!

You first enter through their tree lined walkway where the white lights look incredibly magical.  You need to pre-order your tickets, because they do sell out, (and were sold out the night we went!).

Right away you come to a "gingerbread house" - one of the green houses at the gardens - that they have turned into an indoor winter wonderland.  In previous years, they have displayed ornate gingerbread houses.  This year they had some cute displays for photo taking and this gorgeous poinsettia "tree".  They also have yummy snacks inside.  We always stop to get some hot chocolate or apple cider.  This time they had mini donuts - so we felt we HAD to try those as well!

After you have gotten your warm drinks, you are ready to head out on the path.  It is a little over a mile of walking through different light themed sections - some even complete with scents like the tulip display and the peppermint forest section.  Each area is so fun to experience.

You also see the Merry Mosaic which is made out of 6,500 luminaries that are programmable and in the background is a 120-foot-tall Christmas tree.

The path actually goes down to the bottom of the luminaries where you listen to the music that the luminaries are programmed to.  It's a pretty incredible sight!
We have to stop in front of their large frosty to get our yearly photo.

A fun stop for kids, (and adults!) is this light up path where the stepping "stones" change color with every step.  With music going - you have a fun on dance party!

Every aspect is wonderful and new lights are around each corner.  They have a beautiful display of bronze statues depicting scenes from Jesus' life that they show with white lanterns that you can walk through.  If you are coming to Utah or local - definitely include this activity into your Christmas experience!
