Christkindlmarkt is the end of November/first part of December each year and is held up at This is the Place State Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year it fell on December 4-7, 2024. Best tip I can give you is to go the first day and go early! My husband and I always go the very first day and EARLY, (like 30 minutes BEFORE they open) - it does get super crowded as the day goes on. But the organizers of the event plan on this and did a great job with the layout and even the parking this year.
I started at the main entrance to the park. They have a main stage (that you can faintly see behind the tree in the middle) and then booths that circle this open area. You head up the hill where you find LOTS of other booths of merchandise for sale as well as delicious food as well. Here is a map:
I started down at this circle roundabout at the bottom middle of the map and then worked our way up the hill. We stopped at the covered outdoor food area to get a smoking chimney. They are scones that are cooked around a wooden block and baked over coals. They then roll them in a variety of toppings and pull the circular tube of dough off the wood dowel and put it into a bag. The scone "smokes" out the top...like a chimney! They are delicious but head here early as the line gets LONG. My favorite is the cinnamon and sugar one.
Lots of interesting food & product booths. My favorite booth is The Lavender Apple.

They have some of the best lavender products that smell absolutely amazing. To see more of their booth check out my instagram @sharingkitchens and look for the blog post on Christkindlmarkt. I love their lavender sugar scrub and I use it everyday. You can find it here.
I also love Heirloom Baking. They have pastry cloths that are perfect for all of your bread dough needs. You knead the dough on the cloth instead of your counter - and the clean up is so easy! No more scrubbing your counter of caked on flour.
Check out their pastry cloths here. I have used mine for a year and went to get a few more to have on hand.
It is so much fun to see the new items every year and to try new foods. We always get fresh, warm stroop wafels.
Make sure you check them out next year when Christkindlmarkt comes back into town!
